June in eastern Jeju, where Moru Matcha resides, is the season of the gentle micro-monsoon. Drenched by the daily refreshing rainfall, Jeju's iconic summer hydrangeas begin to awaken and bloom in their deep, vibrant colors.
To celebrate this beautiful flow of nature, we held our annual Hydrangea Tea Gathering. This year, we carefully selected only the blue hydrangeas, floating clouds of pure hope and dreams above our tea table. We began with a mindful cleaning to settle the space, shared finely brewed tea, and lit candles reflecting our inner wishes. A gentle warmth filled the room as we prayed for each other's health and the peace of our farm.
Not Masterpieces or Rare Teaware, But the Good Intentions of People Becoming the Center
Moru's tea gathering never centers around a grand lecture by the host, rare and expensive tea leaves, or extravagant teaware. Instead, it is a shared space where the good intentions and collective wisdom of each person who helps prepare the table gather together, creating and exchanging a powerful, peaceful energy.
The world, in truth, is already filled with far more bright light, pure air, and clear water than we often realize. In this very space overflowing with the breath of fragrant plants, the song of wild birds, and the clear smiles of good people sitting together, Moru continues to mindfully offer tea today.
